I quit my job, what do I do now?

So, I quit my job because it has just been way too stressful. Problem is, I am almost 20 with little work experience, no specific major, and all my interests are way hard to find a career in. (Theatre.) My family is very supportive and wants me to follow my dreams, but my friends think I should focus on getting work experience and picking a major just to be sure I'll have a future. I know I'll need a set career eventually, but I really do not want to be stuck with a career that I hate. The only thing I am one-hundred percent sure of at the moment is that I need a break over the holidays to sort some things out. But, I need some serious advice: What should I do?

You have a little time to think it over ... Use this break to research your dreams further. Decide whether you want to make your dream your career and research all that it entails. from career outlook growth, money, etc. this way you will have a complete picture of what you'd like to pursue. and there is nothing wrong with having a back up plan to go along with whatever your major dreams are. At twenty , you have time to explore, gain work experience and so forth but if you choose to follow your heart make sure that you're fully prepared.Good Luck!

There's 20 year olds in the world getting shot at on a daily basis and trying to figure out how they're going to eat more than 500 calories a day. That's too stressful. If you want real advice, stop quitting jobs to find yourself, improve your outlook/attitude on work, and don't start college before you know what major you want and what you want to do with that major after you graduate.

@marilynmichelle Telling someone that you mean no offense right after you just go through literally telling them that you hate them and they shouldn't bother answering your question is asinine. You don't want legitimate advice, you want affirmation. Worthwhile affirmation only comes from the self. So, I'm not going to bother anymore and good luck.
@Sicarium I should have chosen my words better, because I didn't mean to say that I hated you. But thank you, anyway.
@Sicarium @Sicarium And for the record, you didn't have to bother in the first place.

I'd say go with your dreams. Study and learn what you can now to better yourself for the future. Work experience will come after.
Find a guy with money and live off him
@sighmeupforthat Seriously, not gonna happen. 😂

@barbershoplover Best advice
@Tminus6453 I'd rather be able to help myself, but it did give me a laugh.

What are you passionate about? Because when you're 20, you tell yourself that you'll just get a job to pay the bills and work on your dream on the side, and you find yourself 35 years on with nothing to show for it. As an old man who did exactly that, I recommend doing what you can while you're young to achieve your dreams. You can always slide down the slope, but it's a lot harder to climb up it later.

Be a myfreecams.com model.That's kind of like theatre, isn't it?
@gurlwatcher22 WOULD YOU FREAKING STOP???? I am talking about actual theatre. Not whatever the crap kind of crazy stuff you all are into because you are an absolute PERV.
gurlwatcher22 · 61-69, M
Didn't mention a damned thing about sex, smut or anything like that.Actually, the burlesque shows of old had music, drama,dancing and comedy as well as the you-know-what.Oh, and writing in all caps is considered SHOUTING. No need for that.
@gurlwatcher22 You can freaking tell that it's related to porn just by looking at the ad itself. Please, don't even try to defend it.

Did you ever think of going to college?
@VoloProVeritas62 I am in college, currently.
VoloProVeritas62 · 61-69, M
@marilynmichelle Okay. Will you be able to finish college now that you've quit your job?
@VoloProVeritas62 I would be able to finish anyway, as it is only a two year school, but I am almost a year in, and haven't declared a major yet because I don't know what to do.

When you say theater, do you mean as an actor, or production?
@CathyUK Actor.
