Hey I Got a Question?

You folks in Europe or maybe England. What are the squiggly lines suppose to mean on the roadway? We don't have them in the USA.

which squiggly lines in particular? We have loads of them! Zigzag lines by a zebra crossing and in front of schools etc mean you cant stop there or park there..
Sometimes the road is kind of hatched as again you aren't meant to be in that part unless you can't avoid it..

@deeply Alright, a little more detail there!

@deeply :P well I did say keep clear.. as in don't park there :P I am glad someone was able to give a more comprehensive answer - I predicted this :P

@Adaydreambeliever you got most of it, which is more than the school mums in this village would get, they think it means 4x4s only.

@HoraceGreenley That is one possibility.

@GerOttman I have no idea actually. Just another reason to take a cab or hire a driver.

I'm commenting on this to see if anyone gives a definitive answer because I've not been able to find a satisfactory answer about them.
I thought it was supposed to be caution/slow.

If you look carefully you'll see that they are raised slightly. When driven over at the legal speed limit they induce an audible vibration in your vehicle. On long stretches of road you'll hear the national anthem of the country in which you are driving.

@Thodsis Ummmm.... Hmm, sounds legit!

@GerOttman Trust me. It's true. My uncle said that a bloke he once met in the pub claimed that his grandfather had invented them...

@Thodsis I met that guy at Burning Man I think!
