Is Ireland safe for travelling at the moment?

A female friend wants to go there on vacation to do backpacker travelling, now I don't know if it's safe enough for her.

@Ryannnnnn It's just because she sounds like she never did that before, and I just read that in Australia there used to be a murderer who abducted and killed backpackers :/

@scooogy Tbh travelling like that alone as a woman is not a good idea if you're backpacking. Never run out of stories like that.
