Why did airlines change their policy?

Thy used to be ok with regular ID now you have to have a Real ID to fly now?
Not yet. Later this year. I don't have one yet. I have to pay to get my birth certificate again. The VERY SAME birth certificate I presented to them when I got my license at 16. Apparently my proof of birth has expired.

It's some really stupid fucking bullshit that will cost me time and money.

they force you to spend money to get a special id so they can pay for the anti terrorism stuff. It is to make it more difficult because you have to go get the id from the state.
@FamilyStrictDad66 its not free to exchange? :( ah jeez im poor

@TryingtoLava Yep, I had to schedule a time to go get mine from the DMV. it is more expensive than a drivers license so yes not free.

A few months ago. The feds have pushed it out on the American public without debate. The truth is they are preparing to manage a collapse of order if the monetary system crashes

Pretty sure it is so a terrorist does not blow up the plane you are flying on.Let's stat safe even if there are more checks and procedures we have to go through.

It wasn't the airlines it was the federal government that mandated the change.

As of Oct 1, 2020, apparently.
