AirBnB? What is all the fuss about?

I have never used the service. At first glance, it does not appear that it will save any money, despite what I was led to believe. In fact, it often looks to be more expensive with less amenities and more restrictions. Am I missing something? I don't see what all the fuss is about .. unless you are the homeowner. Then it makes more sense.

Anyone have advice or experiences to share?

It is horrific for the communities in high tourism locales and drives up the cost of housing. Outsiders buy up the housing to offer as fulltime Airbnb's, causing those who live in the community to have fewer housing options and having to pay higher costs (rent and purchase prices) for what housing is available. Here in Hawai'i it is attrocious and exacerbated by the already high cost of living.

I like it I rented a whole condo in NYC for $135 a night for a week, it's like living in your own place way better than a hotel you just have to be willing to look for the features you want I had a hot tub in mine it was pretty dope

It can be cheaper if you have several people staying instead of forking out for a hotel. Better if you want an apartment for a week or two so you can have people back as well.

@HeilHitler The thing is that short-term vacation rentals are nothing new and neither is listing them over a wide channel. It's the silly new buzz word applied to a very old idea that makes me find the term laughable.

I actually like it better than a hotel, you dont pay any resort fees. Most of the time it's cheaper and more accommodating
