Why are you tailgating me?

Don't you realize that if I have to slam on my breaks because some kid is running after a ball, or an animal runs out in traffic you will hit me? You should be able to say "one thousand, two thousand" slowly before you are where my car is. And yes I am driving at least the speed limit, often much faster, and yes if there was a place on the road to let you pass I would gladly let you pass me.
