Bit of a odd question

Me and my boyfriend are going on vacation in a few day's. I was wondering in the security checkpoint at the airport. Do I need to tell them about my leg since I have a lower leg prosthetic.

Probably, if you are going through a metal detector I would assume there is some metal in there. If you go through the body scanner it is probably not an issue. This all said they may want to check it out to make sure there is nothing hidden in there, best to ask when they check your id.

I have artificial knee and shoulder. I tell them I will "beep" when I pass through the scanner, which I do, and then they use the wand to check the prostheses. It's no problem.

@exexec oh alright. That is what I'll do

Definitely tell them up front, it will save you the headache of going to a small room and having to be thoroughly checked by TSA.

Not sure but id just go through normally and if they stop you, then explain. Enjoy your vacation!

My aunt has a medical card that shows she has metal in her knee. Did they give you one

I think they will let you take it off as you pass immigration.

It can't hurt to tell them. At least they won't be surprised.
