I Love Nature

I discovered when I was about 14 years old that the best solution for my anxiety is a walk in the woods. Honestly, my first walk to the woods was to take my life. I sat against a large oak tree by the stream. The woods were quiet and peaceful, yet full of life. I was able to collect my thoughts, something I couldn't seem to do before that moment. I'm thankful I decided to take that walk into the woods, rather than ending it all inside my house. Twenty years later, I still sit against that same tree, just watching the squirrels and birds. Many of the trees didn't survive the tornado in 2002, but this tree did. Sitting against it feels like someone is hugging me. I lost someone very special to cancer a while back, so I've been visiting the tree more lately. I go there to remind myself of what I have, what I've had, and that everything will be okay. Hang in there, guys.
