I Love Nature

A family of blackbirds has chosen to nest in an old cold frame outside our house. Yesterday, the daddy blackbird brought out his two chicks to meet us. The babies are nearly as big as the parent, but he still needs to look after them and feed them as their wings are not properly formed. I helped out by digging up some worms and lifting a plant pot so he could catch the woodlice that were living there 😌

We have the same in our back garden , nesting in the honeysuckle . One half grown chick was taken from the nest, we suspect by the one of the many magpies that visit the garden . Rest doing well.
