I Love Nature

The first sunrise of 2018 was a very quiet frigidly cold affair. It arrived without any fuss or ceremony. Its metamorphosis a process from the dark horizon to that breathtaking display of brilliant colours. Almost similar to a beautiful woman making her grand entrance gracefully into a room with an aura of flamboyant intrigue and glamour.

This morning's sunrise might not have been much different to most but it held a greater significance to me somehow. Being the very first one of 2018. It held promise of the new year ahead. It's magic and spectacular myriad of colour eclipsing the sky. Mesmerizing me with its glory and the beginning of a beautiful sunny cold Winter's day.

Looks like many of us woke up to those conditions. Our snow was only broken by deer tracks as they nibbled on our shrubs. Not as cold as you but enough to want to stay inside in the warmth. Enjoy the day and my wishes for a happy and healthy new year!
@SageWanderer Thanks so much and you as well my friend. Have a wonderful day nice and be cozy and warm in your house. May you have a fabulous new year and I wish you happiness and good health.

Sun is not up yet. It is warmer that last yea----- er I mean yesterday its -16 F today.
@hippyjoe1955 Canada is like that and it's true we are a very vast country with varhing fluctuations in temperatures. For a few days last week we were colder than Nunavut and Baker's lake here near Ottawa.

@sensualbeauty1 Yes it is fascinating how air masses move and mix and mingle. When I was a kid we had a cold stretch that lasted 6 weeks. It got down to -40 every night that entire time. The schools stayed open and we country kids took the school bus in every morning and home every night. We also played outside at both recesses and noon hour. Ever get hit in the face with a frozen soccer ball? It hurts. lol
@hippyjoe1955 I remember hearing stories like that. I have my memories of having to walk to school in the extremely deep snow and on frigid cold days. No coddling for us or schools being closed. You just did it because it was required of you and no questions asked. Only in Canada eh!!!😆

so beautiful. I wonder what this would look like resetting the white balance so the snow doesn't look blue. I bet boiling water would freeze instantly into snow
