To be honest... this situation happened to me.

In my opinion. It is the worst feeling ever. They died too soon and I still feel this money is theirs. I still save it and hold it because that is what mom did.

I didn't need it. I didn't want it. But if I give it all away, I know that's not what mom would have wanted (or she would have done it).

I know it's all in my head but I would have rather had them for 10 more years than this burden.

Very similar situation.
Dad passed in 2014, mom in 2016.@SW-User

@AthrillatheHunt 2015,2016 for me.

I don't think my sister and I will ever go on a visit together without rehashing all the things we consider we did wrong.

Same. My sister and I are 15 months apart.@SW-User

My parents aren't gonna leave me shit. And tbh I don't want anything from them, they're assholes.

Awwwww. I can wait for my mother to pass. Her money won’t make me happy.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
You’ll smoke away your inheritance.
TheCoolestCat · 31-35, M
as i said i have plenty to be able to go back to full time smoking... anyway ill not be living at home for much longer, another couple of months just
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@TheCoolestCat You mean forever living there.
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
@MrBrownstone He can do what we do in the roominghouse I live in; we have a big garden in back with plenty of weed growing. So none of us need to buy any.

My parents were millionaires, hated me so much they vowed to spend every last penny before they died. It's gone now my mother is still here complaining that she thought she would be dead by now as the money is all gone and she doesn't want to live.
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
@curiosi My mother talked my father (her ex husband) into leaving most of his money to a few distant relatives of his plus, I suspect, the Communist Party. He left me exactly as much as it cost to get my mother the care she needed in her old age (after her car accident). Then I was broke. This was intentional on both their parts. It saddens me that they both wanted to hurt me that much. I was a good daughter and sacrificed a lot to care for them when they needed me. I still don't know why they had so much hostility toward me. It's a mystery. And that hurts, too.
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
Invest that money carefully. You will need it in your own older years. You really will. Being old can get expensive.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
The greatest transfer of wealth in the history of mankind is happening right now for exactly the reason you mention above: inheritances.
My parents have money too and their your parents age, but I could care less. I don’t want to live one second past them. When they did, I want to just be done.
Quimliqer · 70-79, M
If this is what parents are for, your very wrong..
TheCoolestCat · 31-35, M
as i said it was just a thought that came into my mind
Chelsiegirl · 46-50, T
