I Am a Single Mother

There are times when my Son asks me questions that tear me up inside.
You know questions like...
Do you think You and Dad will ever get back together?
Do you still love Dad?
Do you know what my biggest wish is Mum? You and Dad getting back together and he moves back in with us!
I can almost hear his little heart break when I say no.
I try to make my reasons as positive as I can as to why, however he still has a little hope that there may be a chance one day.
I never bad mouth his Dad..I always tell my Son that we both love him very much.
Inside me though...it kills me!
If he only knew the reasons why I left. The things he did to me and continues to do to me.
One day...when he is old enough he will see and understand for himself.

After I was separated from my wife one of the most emotional moments for me was on a weekend over hearing my youngest daughter singing 'Gilly Gilly Ossenfeffer' to herself.

Sadly life is never perfect, we got divorced and my ex told the kids I didn't want to see them and never gave her any money for them, which was all rubbish.

Awww..sorry.
I don't get it. Why lie and hurt the children. They didn't ask for any of it.

It didn't make sense, she could've used the time I had the kids to get her (love)life back together but she much preferred trying to upset me. As it was I just found the strength to ignore her antics and carry on with my own life. I've now been with my new partner for 7 years and she has been alone since I left which must be at least 10 years ago now.

People consumed with bitterness are nasty

Hugs for you! 🤗 I definitely know how that feels. No words can be said to make you feel better. But only you know that you're doing the right thing. For him.

Thank you.
It's heart reaching at times

I'm not sure it will get better. Just hug him 😊

@cloudi: I do every day.
Thank you 🙂

If he is a young child he admires dad. He doesn't see the jeckel! Although children are more observant than we realize...When he grows up some he will understand.

I gather dad is abusive or hell to live with..

Both.
