Does anyone actually watch the "Tour de France"? I find it SO boring ...

"Le Tour" IS bloody boring. I worked on it once when it came to UK. 45 mins of advertising trucks go past, then French cars with flashing lights, then a pause, then about 100 blokes go past on bikes very quickly. Not a great spectator event.*

Ok you should watch the whole thing through on TV I suppose.

If you want a real sporting event the World Conkers Championship is in Autumn. Book a seat now!

*apart from the little council street-sweeping wagon that got stuck in the middle of it all.

@Zoranna Tennis is harder to "throw a game" but it can still happen. It's not unpopular, but it's definitely not the first to come to most minds when you say "Major sports." I can't play myself though, knee would kill me.

@Zoranna We all have our biases, human nature after all. Enjoy what you enjoy. Minor leagues of all sports tend to be better anyway. It's always about skill then.

@Tminus6453 There's nothing wrong with cycling, I used to have a bike. I just don't understand this, the following it gets and the TV coverage it's getting here.

You can see nice landscapes and villages during mointain stages. In opinion golf or tennis are much more boring.

I watch off and on. Most always the last day. I did some work for about six months on behalf of a certain U.S. cyclist who blew the sport open and is now synonymous with cheating. So I see it like most every sport. The deeper you go in to it the more interesting it becomes. There's so much strategy involved but that really isn't too interesting to most. But if you're a fan of athletes suffering...there's not many, if any, better sports.

I kind of watch half way just to see the countryside and the architecture. Other than watching break a ways get chased down it's interesting to me how the teams set up for the finish.

I never watch sports, chariot races or snuff movies. I never watched Americans slaughtering their Vietnamese brothers on TV.

And I used to ride a ten speed.

@Zoranna Biking like baseball is becoming a pastime. Or watching it on tv is anyway. People are too busy playing around on their cell phones and ipods nowadays. The attention span is short. 🙂
