Any runners on here

Training for my first marathon which is in a few weeks. Any advice?
work up to the distance slowly
dont start with the entire length
start with 1/4 and add a bit untill you get comfortable
then add some more
26 miles is a LONG run if you are not used to it

drink LOTS of water,, and electrolytes
( plants love them!)

eat well, lots of protein

No, but i sure wish i was a runner -.-
I have completed 13 marathons, and too many 1/2's 10k's etc to count. One 50mile ultra. I will be competing in the Senior Olympics in Albuquerque,NM in June of this year. It took me 10 years to qualfy. I've been running 46 years now. So I know I can possibly give you some solid advice. How long have you been running consistently?

@vetguy1991 Awwww... I'm a friend of yours?? 😉 Lol, we have been friends for quite some time, huh? Anyway...

@Lindaisfun Hi Linda... I'm not sure how much advice I have. I do run every day, but I've never done a full marathon (done several half-marathons though).

I know that you want to work your way up to the distance. If your marathon is in a few weeks, then I expect you're doing a long run each week now and that long run is up around 20 miles, right?

Also, hydrate hydrate hydrate, but I'm sure you know that. Know your electrolyte balance stuff.

As for diet, I presume you've gone high protein already, right? If not, I think they recommend that at this point. And I'm sure you know about carb loading, right?

On marathon day, your main competition is really you. Don't psych yourself out. Good luck!

Consistently run as a ramp. Run your heart out on your first day and take a physical break. Then run up to that distance the second time, more the third by about 10% more, then 10% more from the last time and so on and so forth :v
That's what I did :v
Take off all your clothes in public ... you will have to run fast and far.

@HungJury not sure if you read my earlier post, but I’m doing an SW purge tonight. So anyone who even remotely annoys me gets blocked. So see ya

Rob alot of banks, then you'll get in alot of practice.
Lindaisfun · 26-30, F
@Allelse what?
Allelse · 36-40, M
@Lindaisfun Well when you rub a ban you get the police chasing after you, so that'll get you really fit fast.

I am an avid runner. I generally run two marathons each year. Good for you
unknownpoetx · 36-40, M
you won't make it
Lindaisfun · 26-30, F
@unknownpoetx I’ve already ran a 3/4 marathon race
