Your chances are not good. The arena football league is still full of great athletes, even if they are not capable of playing in the NFL. Most players have at least played in college and there are quite a few players who have at least been on an NFL practice squad or training camp squad. And all of the players have been playing actual football for a long time, not just backyard stuff. A lot of the AFL players are actually talented enough to play in the NFL but have off the field legal issues or do not have the size to stay in the NFL for long so they aren't given much of a chance past training camp. So it is highly unlikely that anybody can just go try out and make an AFL team just because it is not the NFL. But you do you man, definitely go try out and have some fun. No point in not trying to make it just because it's difficult.
