I started back up Martial Arts
I’m 34 now. When I first began I was 8. I took Tae Kwon Do for 9 years and made 3rd Degree Black Belt. Then I switched to Shotacon and I was able to transfer my belt to that style. I dabbled in Juijitsu a bit as well... I attended an all-boys military academy in south Texas that was very rough. I got in many fights there and it toughened me up and I learned to use my skills in actual scenarios... I eventual joined the US Navy where I was in law enforcement. There was plenty of intense martial training that went along with that as well.
When I got out of the military I all but stopped training. My muscle memory never left but my flexibility faded, however my strength increased.
Starting back with my old Master from when I was a kid last week felt GREAT!.... until I tried an advanced kick that used to be sort of a signature of mine— I sprained my lateral meniscus on my right leg.
The pain made me feel alive. In a weird way, I actually loved it. It was just a mild sprain so I bought a compression sleeve for my knee and rested for a week. I took it easier today, my knee is still a little weak, but it feels so invigorating to be back and channeling my energy into something productive.
I admit the aggressive style feels good too.
I can’t wait until my knee is back to 💯 % and I can revive my full talents!
