Who should I root for or support?

Sports talk radio this morning made the point that since the Americans are not in the world Cup then it is usually common to default and root for the country of your ancestry. So since Hungary is not in this year whose bandwagon should I jump on?

Think how amazing it would be if Iceland won tbe World Cup

@lorne13 It would be a true "Cinderella" story.

I'm English born, raised and resident so its no contest for me. I'm interested in what people will say though. Are a lot of Americans even watching the World Cup?

@Burnley123 From what I heard on radio this morning as people called in to voice their opinion there are quite a few who will watch. Other than MLS and the occasional Premier League game I don't have much of a handle past the usual powers. Maybe I'll wait until after group play.

@SageWanderer It does get more dramatic from the final round of group games on. England is a football country so obviously, the WC is huge here. An average game is watched by 5% of our population and England games by 30%.

Root for the underdog.
That's what i do when neutral teams play.

Alternatively. Belgium !
