Should you vote along party lines or vote for the candidate?

Freeranger · M
....or perhaps, should we look to vote for candidates who actually do the things they say they are going to Congress for, as promised? But wait.....this is a fantasy question is it not?

When we can finally establish term limits, when we can ERADICATE alllll of the perks and backroom deals where, an elected candidate LEAVES office with an income reflecting their American counterparts instead of leaving with free benefits in perpetuity, and as multi-millionaires....when we have candidates who really ARE there because they want the best for America, and can unabashedly state that they LOVE our country, then perhaps, in my pie-in-the-sky thoughts, we will leave the nation a better place.

Parties and block voting is part of the problem, and that's exactly what the parties want. Yes they're fighting for control but they're also working together to force block party voting on us... which is B.S. and only hurts Americans.

Saying there is only two choices, get in line or be the enemy.... when there are tons of choices. Block voting shouldn't be legal (the one button selected all one party at the start).

We really need to break up some monopolies in the US and two of them are the Republican and Democratic political parties... as well as the people that give them money.

Of course, that will never happen, as they make rules for themselves, not against themselves.

My personal philosophy is that voting for a party regardless of the candidate is only doing harm to the country. You should vote for the right person for the job, not the party.
If you can’t see they are all one party, we’re all truely doomed.

Party line if it is the Democrat party at this time

Since everyone who goes to Washington gets corrupted by the swamp, you are better off voting for your party since independence disappears quickly.
I’m never going to vote Republican. January 6 and the unwavering support of the base for Trump, with that Confederate flag in the Capitol building told me all I needed to know about it no longer being the “Party of Lincoln”.

Moreover, any party with a platform that doesn’t support workers, affordable healthcare or education, women’s reproductive choices, civil rights for LGBT and people of color isn’t a party I can back.
