Question for moms...

How did you feel (emotionally) after giving birth? Did you have the baby blues? Or maybe it turned into PPD or PPA? How'd you get through it? Was your partner helpful, how? Did you have a good support system? I hope I dont bring up any negative memories or anything, I just would appreciate some advice or something. I dont know. This shit sucks. I have an appointment set up but for some reason I'm terrified and have so much anxiety. I'd rather cancel and try to move on, honestly.
Please don't leave any rude comments, I've beaten myself up enough already, I dont need anyone else adding to it

Honestly, it was fucking awful. But not everyone has it.

@LunarSkies We're good now. Just wish I'd looked after myself more afterwards

I didn’t really go through PPD, but I did have a breakdown after nursing my son after 2 weeks because he was a cluster feeder, so I had no rest. I did have a good support system with my ex at the time, & my in-laws would drop off food when they could. It was hard because my family was in Toronto, & I was in the States. When my son was 5 weeks, my mom came & stayed for almost 3 mths.

With my daughter, my mom was there from the get-go so that helped a lot.

If you’re feeling any type of PPD, you should talk to a professional. Sometimes just talking about things can help.

I did get postpartum depression. I did not have a supportive partner or a support system and I think if I had had either of those I would have gotten through it a lot easier. I did speak the help of professionals and I was able to overcome and get through it.

I just want to add that they really can help you. You aren't alone in this, it's okay to feel anxious but you are going to be okay. Take that step, get the help ((hugs))

My partner had it with our first. As a partner I can say its kinda hard to get your head around.

Id be careful of accepting the drugs they proscribe...in our case it just knocked her out for 16 hrs a day which did not help.
With my first I was sleep deprived. I cried the first few weeks. I did have supportive family around.

My second cried a lot, I struggled to feed them. I went to a PPD support group.
Postnatal care is important for you and your mental health. 🤗 Don't miss it...
