Does anyone currently have a blog that they write?

I'm thinking about doing one, but I've never done one before and I just want some advice on what I should start doing first. I know what I want the blog to be about, I'm just unsure where to begin.

Either use blogger from Google if you want it easy. But to customize it best, maybe WordPress is better . Or used to be..
