Advice please

Even though I was only raised by a few of my older sisters, I have always been a responsible mature person who knows that the way to a healthy life is a healthy body brain and heart that live in harmony and peace together. Im 16 year old girl yet unlike most teens around me I have never snuck out ,skipped school ,got in any trouble , drank alcohol or smoke etc etc before
But today...I snuck out and was too close to buying a pack of cigarettes but I stopped myself last moment and returned home.
I’m afraid next time i won’t stop myself
Not just that, lately I have been wanting to try a lot of new things..
What should I do?

I'm not going to say don't try new things. It's one way to find out what we like and don't like. But, there are somethings that one should always think twice about. You sound like you know right from wrong, good from bad as in habits. At your age it's very common to want to try things you're not suppose to. I know I did and somethings I really wish I hadn't. One cost me the friendships of 3 people and it was all my fault. I smoked for 18 years and finally quit, through a lot of work. If you take all the money I spent on smoking and add it up, I spent around $9,500, give or take. I'm so glad I quit.

Here's my suggestion, if it's something that can affect your physical health, wait till your older and see if you still want to. Sneaking out isn't a great idea because if anything happened to you, who would know. You won't be with someone at all times. Skipping school? I did it, went surfing, but my grades paid the price and in the long run so did career choices. I had to work harder later on to get what I wanted. Drinking? That's what cost me friends. I did some stupid things while drunk and to say you won't get drunk isn't going to work, you will, that's a guarantee. It can also do a number on your body, mind, relationships depending on how often. Smoking anything else? Hell, you'll get everyone telling you this and that about how good or bad it is. All I can say is of all my stoner friends, none ever really did anything with their lives till the quit. I can't speak about everyone, we're all different, but I did see how they turned out.

I know most people your age get tired of being told, "But your young..." But the truth is you are and though it may not seem like it, things you do today at this age, will help form your future. Am I saying don't have fun? No, not at all, but doing things you're not suppose to do for whatever reason doesn't mean it's fun. I did a lot and my body is paying for it now. You don't think about things like that when you're in your teens, you don't think about the pains and losses you'll have later, it's all here and now. I wish I had known that when I was younger, I'd have done a few things different.

All I can say is, you sound like you've got a good head on your shoulders, you think things through and you know right and wrong. Trust that in yourself. Wait to try somethings and maybe it'll be better when you understand them better. I can't tell you what to do, I can say that if you have a doubt, maybe it's something you should pass on, for now and don't ever let anyone pressure you into something you don't want to do, for any reason. (okay, that sounded like me telling you what to do).

Sorry this is so long, but I hope this helped and made some sense.

@MrPerditus1 omg I literally just teared up 😭 I never thought that anyone would care enough to send me such long message just advising me.
There are still kind people left in the world
Thank you ❤️

@Moon3624 You're very welcome and it's just I know how it is to want to test things, but some are just not worth it right now. Give yourself some time, enjoy the simple things, live a little before testing the waters and if you need to, talk to your sisters, if you're close. If not, then try here, there are some great, wonderful caring people here.

Alright, do you understand the consequences of trying these new things? And I dont mean getting in trouble Mom and Dad, I mean the possible consequences and dangers?
Moon3624 · 18-21, F
@Allelse I guess so
Thank you ❤️

@Moon3624 For instance, cigarettes are really addictive, and can lead to health problems. You're old enough to understand that, it's illegal for you to purchase them, as far as I know, so as an adult it's my place to tell do illegal things. But risk is a part of life, and so is trying new things. So take that how you will.
one,, forget the cigarettes.. they are addictive destructive and make you look nervous and weak.
what other things do you want to try? maybe one of those is mbetter
You’re pushing the limits. Some things will upset your mom and dad. I’m afraid as I don’t know you all I can’t give advice there.

Tell yourself that it’s stupid to smoke!

Repeat after me - “It’s stupid to smoke”

My dear, cigarettes aren’t anything good, they’re not kept from you because they’re the good stuff (there are things that are nice like that but that’s not on the list) they’re just disgusting and physically addictive and cause all kinds of problems

As for wanting to try new things, it’s not bad to try new things but you need to be very selective about what things you try

I want so badly to be there with you to show you new things, and keep you away from the bad ones

@geoam1 glad you quit )
Hope my uncle does too soon
It’s normal to experiment some. You’re becoming your own person.

Forget cigarettes. It'll cost you $5,000 a year for a pack a day.
