What are some good places to meet new friends?

Not saying you'll like any one of them, but here's some thoughts.

Take up Bowling, watch, comment
Church
Coffee Shops
Frequent Restaurants
Jogging around football field track
Library
Thrift stores - strike up conversation about an item.
Karate
Karaoke
Donut Shop
Mall
Invite a friend to a movie.

@LadyGrace That is nice!
I've taken up dancing, restaurants (frequent),
library (i like the library, good suggestion!),
Going to the gym not jogging,
Thrift stores (Possible but i probably wouldn't),
I have been thinking about boxing!
Karaoke (amazing suggestion, i'll keep this in mind!)
Donut shop, we don't have any,
Mall - Tried it.

Karaoke sounds super fun though, ever done it? =)
@Stubbornsoul Oh yes. My favorite. And the very first time I got up to sing, which was a few years ago and they don't do it there anymore, one man told the friend I was with when he went outside to take a smoke, "Now that girl sure can sing!" That really made my day. Meant a lot to me. Ha

I go to boxing and life drawing classes (separate not at the same time XD)
Stubbornsoul · 26-30, M
@MrMonnyPenny I have actually considered going to boxing. I mainly train it alone, great idea!
What's "life drawing"?
MrMonnyPenny · 22-25, M
@Stubbornsoul where you draw naked people
Stubbornsoul · 26-30, M
@MrMonnyPenny Yeah, i can draw stickmen. I'll consider it xd

Depends on your interests. If you have an LGS (local game shop) ask about things like Fnm or dnd nights, etc or even LANS / tournaments.
Local sports clubs or a pool/billiArds team in a pub.
Martial arts is actually great for meeting people too or try the local college for interesting courses, there's plenty of mature learners out there (older students returning to education etc)

@AFamiliarExistence Another excellent response! Thank you so much for sharing this.
I do love all the things you cited, but i have a difficult time pinpointing where i should start. But just like you mentioned, ask around seems like a great start. It sucks though, because my LGS shut down the other month and have to travel 2h with buss for my closest LGS :/

If you have any other great suggestions, i'm all ears.
I will take up on your suggestion, thanks! :)
