How do I get the odour and sweat out of my work boots?

I work many hours in a very active job so my work boots get quite sweaty and smell quite a bit, I have tried loads of things to get the odour out of them but nothing seems to work.

Have you poured baking soda in them and let them sit with that for a whole weekend?

Do you spray anti-fungal spray on your feet? That helps a lot but if your boots already stinking. And Lysol spray at the last resort & let them air out in the sun.

Try stuffing them with newspapers, this used to work for my sons soccer shoes

Odor is caused by bacteria.
Try Gold Bond medicated powder.

I did a job before I was walking up and down the deck all day and got the same problem, only thing to do is get a second pair, or if yours have turned two new pairs and alternate them daily

@SW-User Yeah I would get a new pair but the ones I prefer are hard to find and quite expensive, and they get smelly really quick.

@Ash4040

I hear you, I started out with £90 dickie's and by the second month I was buying 2 £20 pairs of plain boots and changing them every 4-6 weeks

Its an investment if your feet be sitting in bacteria all day they'll suffer
I know ur gonna think this is a joke but buy Monkey Butt Powder. I ride a bike and that stuff is crazy good. Put it in boots---zero stink. On your butt and balls on long rides...no chafing or sweating. Get it at Walmart.

Need to have another pair and air those out a day or two.

Place a tea bag in each boot to absorb the odor.

My socks reek a lot. But those are easily taken care of. You clean and change socks, boots and shoes should get similar treatment.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@RylanTheHusker natural fibers are best

Sometimes you just gotta get new boots.

Baking soda and green tea bags may help.

Make sure you're wearing good socks.

Buy a second pair, use a good foot powder and wear them every other day. Not perfect but it helps a lot.

Don't try to make them smell good. Nothing will work.
Ash4040 · 26-30, M
@5llowance They smell gross though dude, how do I put up with that?
5llowance · 18-21, M
Try foot powder @Ash4040
GerOttman · 61-69, M
Put a bay leaf in each boot, your feet will still sweat but it will smell like soup!
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
