Do you think this is a good deal?

2016 Volkswagen Jetta

37,000 miles.

$14,000 USD

I plan to take my mechanic to check out any cars I'm interested in before buying...

JMHO but I'd stay away from VW altogether.Go with a Toyota or Nissan of a similar year and size,Corolla or Sentra for example.I'm guessing this is to be a commuter car and not necessarily for the bling factor?Just asking, not judging.Your money, your ride.Getting a mechanic's opinion is a good thing.

@gurlwatcher22 certainly. Yes a commuter car.. My mechanic advised against Vw as well.

I recommend a Toyota. I have owned four, and they are very reliable and sturdy. Go to a Toyota dealer and look for the newest model year Corolla in your price range.

@Byron8by7 why would i eant the newest? I dont want to pay more than 10k but i may have to

@iamnikki By "newest" I mean the most recent model year you can afford, i.e., 2013 (or whatever year is in your budget).

i have heard it’s a horrible carif you are poor don’t buy a German car because it will break down frequently

Is it a diesel?
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@nem16 no
nem16 · 36-40, M
@iamnikki Ok well that's good,I was just referring to diesel-gate but it was only those that were effected.
strongbow · 46-50, M
What kind of volkswagen?
strongbow · 46-50, M
@iamnikki Yeah dont take buyers word, do your own checking... look at other similar cars online for sale and compare those prices to the ones you're lookin at... KBB is good for reaserching though
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@strongbow I know, that's why I came home and immediately hoped online.
strongbow · 46-50, M
@iamnikki I always google the exact car I want and find reviews about it and what other people are sellin them for
