Flash cards. Obviously that doesn't work for everything, but it's very effective when you can use them:)

I sometimes put "brown noise" available on YouTube with my headphones on. It cancels the outside noise and it's irregular so your brain can't really concentrate on it. If you don't know what brown noise is.. It's just like radio static noise.... Here's the one i use

Talking/Listening about it, I seem to most effective remember things that have been said.


Making fun or silly acronym rhymes...

From geography class, one I still remember is one for trying to remember the order of the "Stan" countries from North to South end in Afghanistan.

Kicking Ugly Turtles Ass

KUTA
K = Kazakhstan
U = ubekistan
T = Turkestan
A = Afghanistan

Two struggling students were the only ones that could remember these and we finally asked how they were and they came up with that phrase and it was funny and it stuck. I think teenage mutant Ninja turtles might of had something out about that time as well.
Read it fast for the high points. Close it. Let it culture in my brain. Read it again slower, for detail. Take notes.

@blasphemy666 It's like digital flashcards, but the software keeps track of them and has an adjustable algorithm to determine when to show you what card
