I have a question I’ve never done Taxes Before and I got my W-2 form I’m not sure I want money and I get back. Is it just the tax that was withheld?

Or is it wages and tips?

It is wages and tips if you were required to report tips. Else it will be only wages and you will owe a buttload of taxes if you only were reported wages by your employer.

If Alexandria Orcasio-Cortez has her way, you will pay all your tips and 50% or more of your wages in taxes.

You will be lucky to pay your rent, but she will get $175,000 a year or more from the government. It is good to be in the Congress.

You really should check with your employer.
It's the wages and tips that you will be taxed on.

You can probably get by with the free turbo tax download. It will lead you through whatever. The w2 usually just has what you made and what was withheld.

Plan ahead and try and make withholding equal the amount owed each year, otherwise you are giving the govt an interest -free loan.

you calculate the tax on your income(wages/tips).
if your tax is less than what was withheld you will get a
refund for the difference.
