How do you get victims to come forward?

I found an article about a person i once unfortunately knew getting arrested for theft and burglary. The comments on it confirmed what i suspected about him having multiple victims. I was able to get one to talk to me with fake gmail accounts we both created but the others were too scared and this one was too scared and not ready to go to authorities. This guy is incarcerated right now but he wont be forever. He's preys on single mothers and their children. He also worked at a homeless shelter for families and was asking for diapers and baby wipes over facebook he said he would take to hurricane victims with children. He will probably be worse when he gets out. How do you stop a person like this? How do you find victims who might feel safer if there was more of them coming forward? He's very violent too. Everyone is terrified of him.

I think you need to go to authorities and get advice on this, victims need support and to know that they will definitely be safe

@SW-User ive tried state, county, and local in my state and his. They had no advice. I would think it starts with someone bringing charges against him, but no one has. They are all too afraid or too young when it happened.

@morrgin Gosh, it sounds awful, as I don't live in USA I can't give you advice as I don't know where to go to or who to talk to.. I hope you manage to help these people though🤞

So many things it depends on, I guess the biggest is having a willing victim to go forward, without that there is not much to do because you are then talking about something that might happen in the future and police act on things that have already happened in their jurisdiction.

@Subsumedpat even then it would have to get enough publicity for other victims in different states to know about it and he isnt a public figure. So realistically it will probably never happen.

I suppose you could start with a concealed carry permit. You would be surprised how some people can change when looking at the business end of a Smith & Wesson...
