You ever go to ask for advice here, but then decide against it?

Like, you think you might get a good answer, but then you remember the audience here, and all the weird responses you'd get.

Id ask anyway fuck it
SweetMae · 70-79, F
I am careful what I ask.
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@SweetMae I've learned to be very careful in my wording when talking about certain topics.
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@FaeLuna There are some wonderful, genuine people here! But, a few can't be trusted.
Mbingh01 · 61-69, F
Some people on here are genuinely nice people and will give a kind response.
Gangstress · 41-45, F
@Mbingh01 thats what i thought too. If i see a genuine question i try and give an honest answer
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@Mbingh01 I've gotten some really good advice here before. But I've also gotten a lot of weird responses, and strange follow-up messages too, so I tend to think about the possible trade-offs of asking here before I do.
Mbingh01 · 61-69, F
Yes me too and let the chips fall where they may. I think there are a lot of hurting people on here. The women seem more compassionate. Maybe we should get together and form our women only site!😋
Unlearn · 41-45, M
I would consider myself screwed if I had to depend on online advice on here for anything...
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@Unlearn Well, yeah, I wouldn't ask for major life advice. That's what friends and family are for. But smaller stuff I've asked about here.
Myzery · 41-45, F
I will still ask. I just wouldn't have high hopes for a genuine response.
CoffeeFirst · 56-60, F
I would not ask for advice here because although I have seen kind responses, I have seen wacko advice and comments that were insensitive to the gravity of the situation.
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@CoffeeFirst I hate it when I see a genuine plea for help, and some of the responses are just unrelated nonsense or otherwise straight-up harmful. I try to be as helpful as possible when I see that.
CoffeeFirst · 56-60, F
@FaeLuna Especially when the issue is a serious mental health issue or disease! Good for you for trying to help. I do, too.
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
As a man I have the luxury of my questions not triggering all kinds of weirdos.
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@Wraithorn I often wonder how different the site would be for me if I changed the little F to an M. Like, would I get the same types of responses? Would people just ignore me? It's an interesting thought experiment, but I'm not sure I'd be able to pull it off for real.
Wraithorn · 51-55, M
@FaeLuna I know that many people have done exactly that. They usually change back eventually though. I think it must be difficult to maintain a constant false act though if you're wanting to be sincere.
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@Wraithorn I'd just be paranoid and afraid of saying something that outs me as a deceiver. I don't think I could keep it up for long before the paranoia makes it not fun anymore.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
I imagine it's far harder being a woman in that position than a guy.
I guess it depends on the type of advice you're looking for too.
I sometimes ask a question just to get a consensus but even then you don't always get the response you'd hoped.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@FaeLuna tl;dr - cook the roast at 1 hour a pound at 200 F and then sear afterwards.
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@CountScrofula Well, I know what I'm doing for dinner tonight!
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@FaeLuna Do eet. It's unbelievably easy! Make some yorkshire puddings to go with and live like a goddess.
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
I never discuss anything personal here. It’s entertainment only.
Not necessarily advice, because I like to keep certain aspects of my life private on here, there are certain questions I’d like to ask but don’t due to the audience though.
Hdryder555 · 61-69, M
Most times you'll get some of both but if you ignore the weird ones you can get some good advise
anathemaJack · 46-50, M
That's why i gave up on this place.🙄
Yet, I came back.
Wonder what that says about me.
🤔
anathemaJack · 46-50, M
@FaeLuna Yes.😕
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@anathemaJack Nothing wrong with that. Sometimes it can be a fun type of insanity!
anathemaJack · 46-50, M
@FaeLuna true

hami1091 · 41-45, F
No. I enjoy reading the replies I get (most of the time) and it's easy enough to weed out what's unhelpful or weird from the helpful ones.
Still4him · 41-45, F
😂😂 thats funny because it's true
SW-User
No way, I’m not falling for that one lol
LOl, yes. 😅
