Can you be a former Christian???
I was once a born again Christian. God was my life yet I felt let down by him. That's my fault...I'm weak

I think it's okay to feel upset or angry with God. Personal relationships involve all emotions.
People often have the wrong idea that being Christian means you will magically never be sad or suffer again. I think the opposite will happen.

You're not weak. The Flesh is weak
You just need time in Faith with Christ.
Your time is different than God's Time because this world Time is not perfect to God's Time.
Jesus left his disciples to pray but he wants his disciples to pay attention but....
Seems like they're no different than you or me or all of us

Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak

You can be a former Christian, yes, but it doesn't necessarily indicate a failing. It can also be an evolution of the soul.
