When did Mother's Day start in March?

It's always been May.
GlassDog · 41-45, M
It's in February, March, May, June, July and October depending on your nationality. It's the fourth Sunday in lent in my part of the world (and Nigeria).

It's always been March here. I'm sure it hasn't changed where you are.

@ZenKitzune No wonder I'm so confused... 😑

@ZenKitzune Same here.
Not everyone celebrates it at the same time?

@AcidBurn Dang, I feel dumb now. 😥
@adhane05 No worries, I panicked for a second too. In my google searching I saw they now have gender neutral mother's day cards that say "Happy You Day". So there's that now...
It started as a Christian festival where people were encouraged to visit their "motte" church or the one they were baptised at, held during lent. This then became also a celebration of their mother's.

The May festival in USA began in 1900s and was specifically for mum's

@InOtterWords I've never been baptised or christened (Not sure what the difference is, if any). If I had been the chance of a church still being there decades later is slim. Roughly 60% of churches in this area have been converted into offices, bars, nightclubs, restaurants or, in two cases, luxury homes.
