What if you found a wallet on the floor with a lot of money inside of it, would you take it?

I wouldn't!
UndeadPrivateer · 31-35, M
I'd pick it up, if there were identification in it that would allow me to return it to its owner I would. Otherwise that shit's getting pocketed.

I have found a wallet and a purse. I returned both fully intact.

Once found a wallet with $800 in it lying on the road, owner had put it on roof of car and driven off. He was most grateful when I returned it, peeled off $50 and said "buy yourself a nice dinner."

I would look through it and see if there is anything in it that could lead me to the owner, then I would return it.

No. I would have never forgiven myself.
ShatteredHeart · 22-25, T
I would give it back 😇

Maybe in my younger (idiot) days. Wouldn't even think about taking it now.
if there's any info things to give it back, they get it back. otherwise, finders keepers.

I have turned in wallets with thousands in them ,more the once ,
one guy was on his honeymoon ,lucky I found it not someone else it was bulging with cash
the one time I didn't get a chance to I was a kid ,my cousin snatch's it out of my hand ,hands me half the money and buries the wallet ,
turns out it belonged to a guy who used to give me work when he needed help ,
witnesses seen us pick the wallet up ,,I gave it back to him and my part of the money ,,but he hated me after that ,He was killed shortly after
to his grave thinking I would have ripped him off ,,If I had known there was ID inside ,I would have seen he got his wallet ,,my cousin denied his part ,
He got what was coming to him ,,his wife beating ass got 4 slugs to the chest
I have never taken anything that was not mine since

@rckt148: omg! thats tragic. I'm sorry you had to go through this because of your cousins actions, if he hadn't done that , you wouldnt feel like this!

@Starz93: I got past it ,just learned if its not mine its not mine ,
it cost me a good friend but taught me a lesson ,my friend was drinking and driving ,still wish he knew I would never have ripped him off had I know there was ID ,my cousin got me into many things ,,
He stole his Dads car and coin collection too ,asked me did I want to go for a joy ride ,,we ended up wanted in 3 states armed and dangerous ,,he had guns too
He was going to rob a 7/11 but a guy was hitch hiking ,we picked him up ,
I confessed to him what my cousin was about to do ,,He went in a paid for our gas ,bought us food and even gave us money for the toll road we were going to just run through ,,I say He was an angel
I called his parents ,,he refused to call mine ,our parents came ,,I got the blame for it all ,,we went to my brothers who I knew would help us ,,so I talked him into stealing a car so I could go see my brother was his story
only flaw in his slaw ,,I left my parents a note saying I was sorry ,,he stole the car I was going to try to keep him out of more trouble ,,I sucked at that
but the cops would not charge only one of us so his parents dropped the charges so the cops dropped the gun stuff ,,,
He was beating on his woman a few years later when her son ,,not his ,shot him 4 times in the chest killing him ,He looked a lot like Clint Eastwood ,,but he was no good guy ,,but he was my cousin
No, don't take something that does not below to you.

No. I would be devastated if I was the one who'd lost my wallet or purse and someone found it and decided not to return it and/or keep money that may have been inside.

If it had nothing it in other than money I would probably keep it. If it had buddy's ID and shit in it I would probably turn it in at the police station. It also depends on who the guy is, if it was someone I hated with a burning passion then I would burn the wallet and the money. Fuck that guy to hell and fuck his money along with it.

@Neiromatheous: omg lol
Neiromatheous · 31-35, M
@Starz93: What? It is a perfectly reasonable response, isn't it?
I would take it to the address in wallet if local or to police department if not

When I was a boy, I returned the wallet, several years ago, I took the cash, kept the wallet (it was nice, I still use it) and shredded the id and credit cards in case someone fished them out of the trash. This could be considered a metaphor for youthful idealism versus adult pragmatism, but basically I just need money now and then I did not.

No way I have lost many wallets through my teen years full of singles and I always wished someone would have returned it.
