Why do so many here use questions on politics and religion as a stick to beat each other with?

If you can't answer these questions in a constructive manner with facts, instead of just going to sling insults and have a row, why bother..
Politics, religion and sports are three subjects, that always end with someone being mad or offended..
@Nomar67: hahahaha
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Nomar67: oh hunni nothing wrong with that subject but I know what you mean anything other than missionary or vanilla and you are a pervert to many...😂
@Primnproper: unfortunately all to true
goliathtree · 56-60, M
some of us can sling insults without using politics and religion. Skill is important.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@goliathtree: 😄 yes it is Mr G..
popmol · 22-25, M
aah since its the easiest and biggest stick you can find.
and since the world is currently in a passive aggressive state where the main problems are racism 3rd wave feminism, immigration and constant rivalry and threats from other world powers.

and the fact that 2 world powers just got 2 elections in half a year
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@popmol: it's fine hunni..there's nothing wrong with having your opinion and you are always respectful..
popmol · 22-25, M
@Primnproper: yay :) well i don't like myself talking about because i hate thinking about it but its hard not too notice.

and of course i'm polite i was raised well and of course i'd be nice to a lovely lady as yourself

@popmol: ☺

That's the goal of both. Politics (at least in America) will always be garbage as long as it's on a two party system. The problem is people don't know how to accept people have different views, and instead decide it's their job to prove the other right. Sometimes they are so extremist they will be for whatever their party does or says no questions asked.

As for religion, I believe that's because in most religious books it discusses the need to help convert those on a misguided path or whatever. Books like all art are based on interpretation. Most people interpret things differently which causes disagreements. *sigh*

This is partially why I'm moderate and not religious.
@UsuallyInvisible: "This is partially why I'm moderate and not religious." Right there with you sister !
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@UsuallyInvisible: I'm right with you there..
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
A lot of insults seem to fly about at the moment whenever politics is mentioned.
It's also very sad to see some very hardline views expressed by some very young people.
Not sure that's because it's stuff they've heard or heard their parents say.
They're far too young to have experienced half the stuff they say, so it's worrying where this stuff come from.

Religion ?......Saw a post on here yesterday asking if Christians should pray for the souls of atheists as we're all off to Hell, aparrantly.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Picklebobble2: yes I looked in on that religious question..
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@Primnproper: It was an interesting debate. But there are some odd ideas out there !
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Picklebobble2: I know...I do find others perspective interesting when they come back with facts..not drivel..
Fernie · F
I'm getting a little sick and tired of you coming in here chastising people PRIMANDPROPER. Don't get involved of it bothers you. Leave us to discuss, argue, insult each other of we choose to. Go to another post. It makes NO sense to come to a site like this and try to control people's behavior
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@ECHO22: thank you, very kind of you to comment..
@Primnproper: :) your very welcome
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@ECHO22: ☺
Good observation. The debate between whatever a person perceives their god to be is fast lost as it turns into a slanging match and the crux of the question is entirely lost in the mud-slinging :)
@Primnproper: I'm with you on what you say. There is nothing I would fight hammer and tongue for in a Forum such as this. It's a pit full of opinions, feelings and personal understandings which comes out in words.

It's the way that some people use words and the way we can say we know what they are saying and how they wish them to be interpreted. Some people knowingly do this.

I won't get into the position of falling out with anyone over anything; there's no point, as you indeed say :)

[Edit for typo's]
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Justbychance: not when you can have a discussion or debate but should be able to agree to disagree like grown ups...lol
@Primnproper: Absolutely :)
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
Politics in this day in age isn't about discussion. It's sport and like a sport yo either win or lose. If you disagree you are on the other team and therefore should be disregarded.
Washington DC is a sewer filled with people who are only concerned with the next election and their team winning, the people are secondary to the infantile games they play.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@ImAFreeSpirit: it's all getting very silly.
Lizabee · F
Where's the fun in that?
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Lizabee: there's a difference between fun and sometimes downright rudeness..
Lizabee · F
@Primnproper: I do understand. Being on the receiving side isn't always fun but I am not innocent 😉
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Lizabee: lol..
Well did you expect much online?
I that's where we differ and that probably because I'm jaded.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@TwilitSona: well if we were all the same the universe would be pretty boring...lol
maybe, maybe not
sighmeupforthat · 46-50, M
a form of psychosis.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@sighmeupforthat: I think you maybe right..
sometimeslonelytoo · 51-55, M
It's worth the bother for people who want to argue and quarrel for the sake of it, perhaps?
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@sometimeslonelytoo: very true, I also try and avoid, the odd times I've been drawn to comment I've kicked myself afterwards..😄
sometimeslonelytoo · 51-55, M
I think I've only fallen for this once on here, and inevitably regretted it.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@sometimeslonelytoo: yes totally understand that..
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
Because it's a good catalyst to cause others to reveal their differences with you, so that you might exploit that and cause an argument.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@BlueMetalChick: game playing.feck that shit.lol
*sips coffee and waits for tomorrow's Russia conspiracy*...
Lizabee · F
@theoneyouwerewarnedabout: awww poor darling doesn't understand the word conspiracy 😉
*sips again* 😏
Lizabee · F
@theoneyouwerewarnedabout: 😘
Flenflyys · 31-35, F
Some people are very sensitive to different opinions
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Flenflyys: I think you can be sensitive without losing your shit..lol
Fernie · F
some of us rather enjoy a religious/political row from time to time :>
SailorMarz · F
those are sooo fun to watch sometimes
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@SailorMarz: not my idea of fun..
SW-User
Both are subjects that should never be discussed.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@holycow: it's difficult on sites like these when people can't control themselves..
SW-User
Some people are just pot stirrers.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@holycow: very true..
SW-User
cuz it's the internet and many people revel in being dinks.
The relatively short answer is that those two topics elicit such strong emotions from people.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@bijouxbroussard: very true..but you can have opinions and still be respectful..
Snapper · 31-35, M
@Primnproper: Some people can't.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Snapper: yes I know...it's very disappointing..
