Do you read reviews?

Have you noticed there are more bad reviews than good ones? But if the item or service is good, they should write that too.

I constantly read reviews and base a lot of my purchases on what people say about an item. Specifically, I make sure to read the bad reviews. Why would I only focus on that? So I can know what kind of problems there might be with an item before I buy it.

The interesting thing is, most of the bad reviews wouldnt be written if the buyer simply would have researched the item more before buying it. Often I'll read reviews about how the color/look was different, how it couldnt do something that it really wasnt designed to do (What do you mean I cant make a phone call on my power drill?!) or that it did or didnt come with certain parts.

Reading those reviews helps me identify if there are genuine problems with something before I buy it or if all the people whining about the item are clueless screwups that dont know what they're doing.

A review is the ONLY time in life anyone ever asks for your opinion.
Sadly, folk tend to post the negative over the positive possibly seeing it as an opportunity to 'wield power' and so get your (justified or not) prejudices across.
People only like to complain
