Which bunk is best to take in Prison? Top or Bottom?

The bitch goes on the bottom. The alpha goes on the top. If you dont want to get shanked or beaten to death, then bottom bunk is the safest bet. Unless you're, like, a total badass. Then sure, take the top and use your intimidation and implicit or explicit threat of violence to justify it.

Otherwise, stick to the bottom. Height represents status. Dogs do the same thing. The more powerful or in control one is, the higher they sit than others. Let dogs on the bed, they view you as an equal. Which is bad, btw. And unhealthy for the dog.

I wonder if there's some sort of un-written rule as to who gets which bunk ?

Top. At least you can hear your cell mate climbing up the bunk to rape you and you can defend yourself. Bottom bunk, you have no chance and become a "victim" or just another "statistic" you choose the noun... lol...

Bottom, your cell mate can always chiv you through the top bunk matress. So I'll pick the safe option.
