@UTD99: I know. It is a growing trend to view sarcasm as a substitute for intellect. I started witnessing it when I was 14 and the lesser achieving but intellectually inclined students of my school wanted to feel smart

There is one other reason why many people are dull. It's because the establishment views any interesting view that could shake people's views in thing so like religion, science etc as "controversial" and therefor off limits
