Did you go to school with any of these people?

@5thApprentice: Teachers are not paid nearly enough to put up with all the bullshit they go through and even the good ones hardly get the respect they deserve.

@NaturallyPeculiar: They should have done that sooner. When I taught High School in the inner city we were only allowed to fail 2 students per semester. It should have been a third of them. Does the kids no good to keep promoting the failures.

@lastbabyboomer: I think the worse part is that most teachers stopped caring and basically had a "teach yourself" attitude just because of the bad students who never did anything or anyways caused trouble, so a lot of students who actually needed extra help and weren't good at having to teach themselves did suffer the most. It was really sad to see. The slow learns dropped out or either got to "graduate" with their class but didn't actually receive a diploma, while the bad kids passed with D averages.
