What precautions would you put in place if you were going to meet someone off the internet ?

Do any men feel nervous as in safety wise about meeting women?

On impulse, I once hooked up with another man on the internet just so that I could experience same-sex "intimacy" and satisfy my curiosity. Naturally, given the nature of the encounter, it took place in a quiet location, and I wasn't about to tell any friends what I was going to do. Fortunately, nothing untoward happened (other than the performance of the deed we met up to do!), but in retrospect it was unnecessarily risky. Unfortunately, it's too easy to get caught up in the heat of the moment and not think things through.

@Primnproper: In retrospect, I don't know whether or not he was really an ok guy, or just happy that he was getting free sex.

TBH, when it came time to "do the nasty", reality had kicked in and I'd really rather have chickened out. But I didn't know what reaction that would get and wasn't prepared to risk trouble, so I just gritted my teeth as he coupled with me and just let him get on with the sex.

i dont get it..... im an average looking guy, i dont wanna put up pics from 20 yrs ago when i was a stud and set the bar that high. and sometimes it was the opposite, their pics werent all that good at all and in person they looked stunning...... sort of an opposite marketing strategy LOL

I would think picking a public place would be prudent. If I were meeting it would be someone that I trust...I still think a public place, perhaps for coffee would help make everyone feel more at ease.

@Hamyamyak: I did that with mine...I used to go and stay for a couple of weeks at a time over a period of 2 years, then it stretched to like 5 weeks then I was there more than my house so moved in 18 months ago and we just got married in March..

@hminuk: 2 of them I'm still in contact with and the other one I dated then married and the 4th one met a lady and she wasn't happy about him chatting to another female even though it was purely platonic but that's ok I respected her wishes.

I wouldn't feel unsafe but I'd still do certain precautions. However, I meet people at social events for RL things and online for online things.
