The UK just called a snap general election. What are your thoughts?

I mean bevause politics has been too sedate and stable these last few years.

May obviously expects her support to deteriorate as Brexit gets implemented, so wants to secure power for as long as possible, while it's still possible

Another example of conservatives going back on what they had previously said for opportunistic party gain. I can't see anything apart from a Tory landslide unfortunately. Interesting side shows in Scotland where it will be a defacto independence referendum and Northern Ireland where, well who knows what's going to happen there!

We had a referendum in 2014, an election in 2015, an election in 2016, council elections in May and a general election in June. Starting to get a little tiring😂.

@thatscottishguy: Spare a thought for the Manchester constituency that has a by election before 8th June

It means I'm about to get really annoyed with the news again for the third year running.
They'll invent a non-existent issue to avoid dealing with the real ones, the media will pick up on it and give it some snappy buzz words, and then some jumped up turd will use that buzz word to give themselves a lead on the opposition that they do not deserve until eventually they win. Same old, same old.

From outside it looks like a logical step. With Brexit a lots of things are going to change in the UK, and tories want a strong government to go through them. However, looking for reinforcement is risky too.
