Why can I see profiles I'm not allowed to interact with?

Like, I can have a conversation with them in a comments section but no...can't view their profile or send them a message or anything...why can't they just not appear or something?

There can only be two reasons , It either your account privacy settings or their account privacy settings and Contact and Content Settings

[X]Block Friend Requests and Messages from people under 18.
[X]Block ALL content and contact from people under 18.

Sarah -- This is the setting I was referring to in my comment. What I have (and what it sounds like you have) is the first box checked and the second box not checked

That's probably it...but if the site doesn't want me to interact with them why not just "block" them for me?

It just seems like an odd waste of space :/

Check your settings. YOU have control over this.

I have profiles and PMs of kids blocked (like you do), but I don't block their content from my feed (because I might be able to help someone).

It's a block you can set in your settings.
