Seriously though how did easter become about bunnies lol

I'm not religious, it just seems kind of weird/amusing that it went from a holiday about Jesus to bunnies.

During the pagan spring festival Oestre witches were said to shapeshift into Hares and leave presents of eggs for children!

Because rabbits are associated with spring, and the Goddess of spring had a hare as her companion....hence the Easter bunny symbol

I think it's originally a pagan festival called oestre or something and celebrates spring. I guess the bunny was about renewal or fertility or something but I'm guessing the part about the rabbit. So I guess that's a long way of saying, "I'm not sure"

[c=#7700B2]bunnies are so much cuter and actually real, so why not celebrate a giant bunny who breaks in houses and leaves chocolate eggs with pretty wrapping?[/c]

Bunnies and eggs are pagan symbols for the goddess Ēostre, both of which are symbols of fertility.
