As an actor would you prefer live theatre or film making?

Personally for me, it would be live theatre, there is something magical about the interplay of energy between the audience and the actors.

The players perform the story in proper sequence rather than fragmented 30 second "takes"....It's gratifying to get instant positive feedback when you're really doing well.

Of course the downfall, is having to repeat the same lines, a 1000 times over which makes it difficult to keep it fresh and "new" night after night.

as a film director I freaking loved filming stage actors.. they can always do a scene in one take
@Pandora (((BOWS))) to the director BOTH film and stage.

Im not an actor but id love to be one. I think i would enjoy film making more because you don't have to shout to get the message across. You can use your expressions more. Also a much smaller audience. Just my opinion.
@purecrazy93, Oh heck try it, you might surprize yourself....you're spot on about the voice control though, after years of having to "project" my voice to be heard in the back row, was hard to tone it down normally.

I will think about trying it. Are you good at changing your voice? My strong suit is doing impressions. I watch other actors/ voice actors i admire and imitate them. Im not super creative on my own though lol
@purecrazy93: There are several tutorials on YouTube, maybe try Jack Plotnick who has several, (he played "Evie" on "Girls will be girls") he does some great lessons and they are free. I'm not much of an impressionist though I did a pretty good Paul Lind lol

A bit of both. Maybe start in film but wind down in theatre like alot of the greats do
@Nasum, of course a lot of those greats started out in theatre, once they have attained "stardom" many go back, it kind of get's into your blood. The old idea of "The roar of the greasepaint and the smell of the crowd" LOL
