Well, only people I know who had an arranged marriage were ones who did/could not find partners for themselves. But yeah, parents here do need your partner to share your level of education/family values etc. Also in many communities they care about the caste.

Nobody would force you to marry someone you don't want 🙄 they most likely to seek permission before arranging anything 😐 and most of them are given time to know each other i don't Know where you are from neither do i support arranged marriages but that's how it works in my family 🤔
