what would you do if a family member and their bf/gf get in a arguement and its about to get heated

since i'm mainly home .... no doubt it's happening at my house and that would probably not be the first time it happened.

finally, at my wit's end i'd have to ask them to leave, naked and shivering with ice water splashed, nervously trying to get into their car before the cops come down the drive way.

Keep a respectful distance and listen to everything.
Some folk, believe it or not. Need confrontation in their lives.
Some folk have relationships built on it ! Weird as that may sound.
But nothing good will come from you diving in there in order to show solidarity.
You may not know what lead up to it !
Of course, should it get to the point where expletives are being thrown about, that's generally either a sign of total disrespect to the person they are arguing with. Or it's a sign that they don't care for even the most basic social niceties !
And if it should descend into physical altercation, then is the time to step in.

Heated in arguing, I'd stay out of it. Heated in physical, I'd have to step in and try to separate them.

I would only step in if there is yelling and/or physical aggression.

If they are in my house I'd ask them to take it somewhere else.

Im a peacemaker... I try to get everyone to at least hear the other's side. They don't have to accept or agree - only hear them

Hey Punk long time no chat. I would not intervene unless it got physical. Otherwise I let them sort it out.

Step in to help the gf. Clear things up later if anyone has a problem with it.

I'm very overprotective when I have a significant other. My claws tend to come out

Hopefully one or both of them beat the hell out of each other.
