How much does being a productive member of society matter to you? Why does or doesn't it matter to you?

SW-User
It matters because I studied economics, and the more lazy unproductive people there are, the higher the cost to society is

I drive the product to you so you can distribute it to your customers that eat the food giving them energy to go to work to supply the heat for the buildings of your loved ones that repair the roads so they can help pay for their children to go to school to be better... it becomes far more complex the further into the web..

Yeah but technicality people could do all of these things without actually caring about society because they themselves and you as well benefit from having a job. I want to know if people care about what they add to society and why or if they don't care and why.
