Do you read all your PM's?
My OCD acts up and I can't deal with the orange notifications. So, I click on them to make them go away. But I don't necessarily read them.

I do the same, tiring but necessary, it's the same as clearing the notifications on my phone and the clutter on my desk every hour xD
