I prefer quantifiable evidence to believing in something because either you are scared of the consequences of disbelief or you just want to subscribe to a narrative

Don't care for believing in something that I cannot prove, but I am open to POSSIBILITY...but possibility isn't fact

but there are so many things that cannot be proved that people say are not faith.
Ronin8510 · 36-40, M
That's a very vague statement, I'm not sure what you're driving at

big bang and evidence for and against
evolution same thing as much evidence against as for

but it is taught by some as undisbuted fact.
Ronin8510 · 36-40, M
There is much more evidence towards both of those theories than the zero evidence there is for the existence of a single deity from any religion throughout time. For example, with the theory of the big bang, there are still cosmic thermal microwave radiation the emanating for a single source. When we talk about the theory of evolution or natural selection we can look at commonalities between existing and extinct species to see what traits were useful to survival and procreation of the subsequent generations.

thats not evelution thats natural selection. and even dawkens says there isnt a single example of something changing because of an increase in genetic code - only a decrease

ok, but that doesn't prove god...or even hint towards its existence. People believe in god because they want to. Mostly out of fear of death, everything else comes second.

id doesn't prove god but it doesnt prove that its a figment of peoples imaginations either.
