what do you do in hot weather in your apartment, when it's uncomfortable and hot

its very hot this evening, i have no fans to blow cool air, i am uncomfortable and very hot, i'm wearing just a t shirt and chinos and still very hot...i have the windows open in my bathroom, bedroom - i live in a one bedroom apartment on my own.

any ideas what i can do?

Cool shower, drink ice water, wet a hand towel and freeze it and wipe yourself down. If you can find some hibiscus tea get it and make iced tea with it, it helps your body feel cooler. You really need a fan to circulate the air and if you have one you can wet a sheet and put it over you and it will help cool you off.

I live in a house without AC, and I do suffer during heat waves. I have resorted to cuddling up with a large ice bag if the heat gets so bad that I feel feverish from it.

Buy a window air conditioner.

@theAlchemist if it’s an apartment on first floor it might not be too safe to do that. In a home you could put a spike nail in a wooden window frame and keep anyone from getting Into your house that way.
