How much is gas where you live and does all the stations have gas?

Regular is $2.95 a gallon and so far all the stations have gas.
Nimbus · M
Would you believe the equivalent cost in the UK in US$ is about $7.50 a gallon?

Now that's extortionate!
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
@Nimbus gotta pay for that socialized healthcare that Brits brag about so much somehow... 🤔
Nimbus · M
@Dlrannie You are correct.

An imperial gallon is 4.54609 litres.
A US gallon is 3.785411784 litres.

Still a rip off in the UK though ;)
Nimbus · M
@wildbill83 That's true.
Jammy · 51-55, M
1.20 a litre here in Eastern Ontario
Degbeme · 70-79, M
@submissivelittlewoman This time last year it was 89 cents a litre. 😡
@Degbeme I know...😕
Jammy · 51-55, M
@submissivelittlewoman I am sure we will be there by tomorrow.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
Its about $7.00 US a gallon. %1.25 per liter Canadian.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@iamonfire696 Yawn. I don't suppose you noticed I did not cite an fixed dollar amount. I said around for a reason. The dollar fluctuates all the time as does the price of gas. I haven't checked the price today. I am going on the price of the last time I filled up which is over a week ago.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@hippyjoe1955 what is your point?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@iamonfire696 What is yours?

Varies averaging just below 3.50

So far some places are running low few are totally out for very long
@Stereoguy riding it out doesn't bother me. It's the level of stupid right before and right after the storms that get under my skin

@Stereoguy I mean, have we really had many down here? It's been basically left up to the private businesses and local politicians to do what they want.

This just makes it official I guess.
JesseInTX · 51-55, M
$2.40-$2.50
Plenty of gas here.

@Stereoguy if people would stop panicking about this pipeline issue everything will be ok. It will be back online very soon and production will start again.

SubstantialKick · 31-35, M
The Midwest hasn't been affected by the gas shortage, thankfully. At the gas station nearest me, the prices are:

Regular: $3.29
Midgrade: $3.37
Premium: $3.77
Diesel: $3.14

£1.29 a gallon
Adogslife · 61-69, M
$2.89 at most places in RI, but there’s a place in MA on my way to work that’s $2.69. That’s where I fill up. No issues with a lack of supply yet, but summer will bring higher prices.

I spent 2.88 (was closer to 2.40 before the hike), two places I checked were "out". Sheetz, had gas of course but it was the second one that I was able to get in and fill up.

Yep, it certainly pays, even with that high cost of electricity. A gallon of gas has about 37 kWh of energy content, but an electric car runs about three times as efficiently as a comparable gasoline car, and that's where the difference comes in. You would have to pay about $20 in gas to drive a gasoline car 150 miles.

Interestingly, they probably had to burn the equivalent of about 2 gallons of fuel at the power station to provide you with your 40 kWh of charge, so they are charging you about the same per gallon for the fuel they used as you would have to pay at a gas station.

jackson55 · M
@SW-User 75% of the electricity to charge those cars come from coal and natural gas.
