Whom do you prefer, your mom or your dad?

DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
Dad. My mom has been horrible to me for my entire life.
Syntonic · 36-40, F
@DearAmbellina2113 Sorry to read that. Do you know why she treats you that way?
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
@Syntonic she's a narcissist.
Syntonic · 36-40, F
@DearAmbellina2113 That sucks. Sorry. 🤗🤗
I'm glad you survived it.

I had really great parents. It would be hard to pick. But they both died in a car accident.
Syntonic · 36-40, F
@SW-User I'm sorry for your loss. That must have been very hard on you.
SW-User
@Syntonic yes very much. Thank you.
VirginMatchmaker · 46-50, M
If you'd asked me that question 10-12 years ago I would have immediately said my mum. But after some CBT I realised my dad wasn't the arse I always painted him. Yeah he's still got a hell of a temper but we get on most of the time and we do text each almost everyday. He's a warm person but my mum is the opposite and it took me a long time to realise it.
Syntonic · 36-40, F
@VirginMatchmaker So you prefer your dad now?
VirginMatchmaker · 46-50, M
@Syntonic yeah a much warmer person but it took me years to figure that out.
Raine · F
Never met my dad and my mum didn't want me, so my grandmother raised me.
Syntonic · 36-40, F
@Raine Sorry to read that. 🤗🤗
Be grateful for your grandmother. People who don't want kids shouldn't have them.
Miram · 31-35, F
Neither. I prefer myself.
Syntonic · 36-40, F
@Miram Do you not like either of your parents at all? Are they that bad?
Miram · 31-35, F
@Syntonic Kind of still love my mother but it is not because she is great person. It is because her horrible choices are largely a social product.

Yes, my parents are that bad. They aren't legally allowed to raise kids.
Syntonic · 36-40, F
@Miram You don't love your dad at all? We are all social products.

The government took their kids away?

@SW-User True that !!!
Syntonic · 36-40, F
@SW-User Oh, I'm sorry. 🤗🤗
Talesfromthedarkside · 26-30, M
God 🙏🏼
Syntonic · 36-40, F
@Talesfromthedarkside That wasn't one of the choices. 😆
Talesfromthedarkside · 26-30, M
@Syntonic joking aside Mom dad wasn't there most of my life
SW-User
My parents are more like much older siblings. My grandparents are the “parents” of my entire unstable family. My sister is the only stable one.
Syntonic · 36-40, F
@SW-User You are not stable?
SW-User
@Syntonic I never really had a stable life yet a stable home.
Syntonic · 36-40, F
@SW-User Sorry. There is still time for you.

@SW-User Oh, my god! So sorry. 🤗🤗🤗 Just learn from their mistakes with your own kids.

@SW-User Great! I'm sure your kids appreciate that.
SammyJo · 51-55, F
Never met my dad. Don't know who he was. So, it'll have to be my mum....

She was a 'character'....

😋

TinyViolins · 31-35, M
Dad was far from perfect, but mom was a tyrannical hellbeast. It's no competition
Syntonic · 36-40, F
@TinyViolins Sorry. At least you had one good parent.
SW-User
My mother by a distance seeing as my dad hasn't ever been in my life 🤪
Syntonic · 36-40, F
@SW-User Sorry. Having both parents around helps a lot. 🤗🤗
SW-User
@Syntonic no need to be sorry I came to terms with it a long time a go. Im so lucky that my mum was so great and always tried to make sure that not having a dad around didn't effect me negatively.
SirBenedictTheSecond · 22-25, M
My mom slightly only because that’s who I share most of whats going in my life the most
Nomad7 · 22-25, M
Depends on the situation. Both are good parents and I love them both
Syntonic · 36-40, F
@Nomad7 That's great. I'm glad you can say that.
SW-User
they're both jesus freaks so none
Syntonic · 36-40, F
@SW-User Oh, sorry. Do they put Jesus above their own kids?
SW-User
@Syntonic crazy enough to say they won’t cosign my education loan if i don’t go to church 🥱
MyaJhonston · 22-25, F
my dad.
unlike my mom he was nice and visiting was a real treat.
LaylaTheTallGirl · 18-21, F
Dad.
My late mom left me and my dad when I was little.
AngelKrish · 26-30, M
Both of them❤️
Syntonic · 36-40, F

My dad is more like an older brother, my mum hasn’t really been independent or stable but I love her.
Syntonic · 36-40, F
@SW-User So you have no parental figures?
SW-User
I had my fraternal grandparents. When I was a teen I had to hide everything from them lol, where as mum and dad just let me do what I wanted like an adult when I was a teen. @Syntonic
I honestly love them both.
@Syntonic It was complicated. But not because of them. And as their first child I was their “learning curve” as parents.
Syntonic · 36-40, F
@bijouxbroussard Did they get up to speed with your siblings?
@Syntonic Yes, they did. And now they’re wonderful grandparents.

@DemonicDelight I'm so sorry. 🤗🤗I've had challenges with my parents too. Especially with honesty. Don't let their actions ruin your life or happiness.
