No Mention on the left about sending troops into Syria on his first full day.

No mention of destroying girls and women’s sports opportunities.

No mention of National Gaurd abuses where Govenors are calling them back.

Turning back the moritorium on CCP Chinese involvement in US energy.

The pentagon withholding classified info. Troops turned their backs on him, Marines and Gaurdsmen did not salute that Illegitimate CCP Agent.

Loss of 50,000 plus jobs and more importation of foreign oil when we were the number one exporter, leading to vulnerability and instability of fuel prices.

This is so disgustingly dangerous but a blessing too. Now so many more see what’s happening in our dysfunctional and criminal governments. That The Uni-Party is a one in the same blackmailed puppet theater show. The cloak is off.

The fake inauguration was the the most embarrassing in history, probably of any country. So many officials did not attend. They all knew.
Oster1 · M
👍You are correct Sir. You know. You have been there!@wildbill83
Oster1 · M
@wildbill83 Absolutely I have seen photos of Putin gearing up to sell oil to the US. Venezuela too. With the CCP, it’s going to be Commiepalooza!!!!!

I refuse to call them Dems or Repubs. Most are Communist Agents of the CCP and other players. I still see a National Security Emergency situation happening. We can’t be taken over like this. Most American people of all walks of life and persuasion do not want this destruction of our systems.

@Oster1 Commipaloiza let's start praying....

Many of these actions are just plain stupid.

$15.00 an hour is necessary in huge cities on the east and west coast, simply because rents are so high. But it is absolutely whacked in places like small town Mississippi where you can buy a house for $32,000.

The result will be to put restaurants and small businesses OUT of business in these already impoverished areas. The rate should be controlled by the governors of each state, who actually KNOW their own states...not by clueless idiots in Washington.

The so-called immigration reform is simply a return to former Obama catch and release policies...expanded to provide amnesty so that we can't deport illegals unless they commit a major crime. It is the HEIGHT of stupidity to allow unchecked immigration during a Pandemic.

Prepare for food costs to skyrocket. Raising gas prices, cutting off the Keystone pipeline and many similar green new deal decisions will keep us all lean and mean.

We will be broke as a nation VERY quickly. Only the very rich will be unaffected. Social security will definitely be affected. Biden can't put multi trillion dollar policies into effect without raising taxes and stealing from Peter to pay Paul.

@Stereoguy I did not see that as part of the current immigration plan, but I know that at one time, it was proposed.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
I believe a 10% wage increase would be more affordable, immigration should be banned until the economy is working well

Health Insurance in American is a national disgrace

@Stereoguy Absolutely I need to know...I will be looking into it in about 3 more years.

@aradia11 Australia has a very good health system, any person can go to the hospital, and it comes under - Medicare is Australia’s universal health insurance scheme. It guarantees all Australians (and some overseas visitors) access to a wide range of health and hospital services at low or no cost. The Medicare levy is 2% of your taxable income, in addition to the tax you pay on your taxable income. ... Generally, the pay as you go amount your employer withholds from your salary or wages includes an amount to cover the Medicare levy. If you are on Welfare you do not pay this levy at all
Chairman Bidjong

🍿
Well ... $15 is okay ... that will put a lot of people out of work ... and raise the cost of a burger to $12 ...

... and hurt millions of families

... just the kind of thing a hateful president would do
LoveTriumphsOverHate · 36-40, M
@questionWeaver If something like that were to happen overnight, many small businesses would not have the cash flow to cover payroll. It may be good for banks who would be willing to lend the money and collect on the interests, but it would not be good for small businesses.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
when these corporations pay more they will work their employees to the brink of quitting and replace as many as they can with automation.
aradia11 · 61-69, F
@cherokeepatti Hi
Was wondering your thoughts on the Pipeline?
I believe our country should be more self sufficient with resources etc. Yet I'm against them putting this Pipeline in Sacred areas and be more careful environmental wise
msros · F
No such thing as a free lunch.
How about the government not stealing so much of our income?
Brooklynbum · 61-69, M
@windinhishair I don’t know about that most of the billionaires own companies that keep people employed , would you argue if you were a billionaire????
Brooklynbum · 61-69, M
Don’t forget they hire everyone from a janitor to an executive
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@Brooklynbum Due to Republican "tax cuts", we have the greatest stratification of income at the very top ever recorded, going back to 1919. Not only should taxes be restructured so allow regular people to keep more of what they earn, and the wealthy to pay more, there should be a means test for Social Security. Trump and other wealthy people shouldn't be able to get Social Security. It was never intended to apply to everyone, only to serve as a safety net.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
Controls on the cost of living as well as an increase on the minimum wage needs to be done.

That means controls on large corporations. It's simple.

And that is why the gap between the very wealthy and the poor is growing to tremendous extremes.

I have been saying this for decades. 😔

It has nothing to do with immigration. Plenty of work to be done if only the large corporations were not so concern about HUGE profits.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@aradia11 even day labor is now an issue. Not that long ago there was three day labor companies here not including the state. Now they are all gone including the state one. 😔

I remember all the senior citizens that were using them for a little extra cash. No more here! 😔
aradia11 · 61-69, F
@DeWayfarer I remember day labor mainly construction..
Sadly went away...in AZ Maricopa county...back in the day..he made it go away..
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@aradia11 it wasn't him if you mean any presidents rather it was the centralization of the corporations. They got tired of transportation costs so they all centralized. This actually was a conservative issue decades ago.
Unemployed ppl are dependent.
Dependent ppl can have money withheld until their behaviour improves..
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
cost of living wouldn't be so expensive were we not paying for a bunch of immigrants, sending money to countries that hate us, buying crap from China that displaces domestic profits/employment/goods, buying into impractical "green energies", etc. etc.

Min wage hike will only exacerbate the problem by causing further inflation

@Stereoguy You keep talking about "open boarders" (sic) that don't exist. Immigration reform is a priority--one of many, and behind economic reform and the coronavirus. There are no specific proposals of any kind at this point, so your criticism of them is based on thin air. How about you wait until there is something concrete to criticize it? Then your racial prejudices and bigotry will be less evident.
Driver2 · M
You should be ok , but who knows for sure. If they get rid of private health insurance, Medicare will be rationed . Do you think the retirees will be cared about ?
I don’t .

@Driver2 funny how insurance is so expensive, but whose going to buy the naming rights to sports arenas, stadiums, sponsor nascars, and put cheesy ass commercials on the television set

One of the biggest problems are snow flakes / millenials that have gone to college and received a diploma despite being too dumb to have actually passed the diplomas for many were worthless as they are for social related degrees or degrees that no one needs to fill positions. Then these idiots want free money, live in their parents basements or sponge off of them to pay for smart phones that they do not need (except for social media or gaming).

The people that actually make money today are those that work and did not need a degree from a 4 year college. Electricians, plumbers, carpenters and manual laborers like those that build our roads and bridges. Many pipeline workers and oil drillers were well paid but those jobs are going away due to Biden (actually liberals). Many carpenters will be out of work in the near future as they will be using robots to take their places. We have fewer real workers today and it will get worse. In ten years try to find a plumber or electrician; good luck with that because we are creating more snowflakes that have no brains and are too damn lazy to work.

If people are worried about the price of a Big Mac going up, they probably need a raise too!!
Brooklynbum · 61-69, M
I totally agree with the minimum wage as it help people get better jobs , immigration is the way America was founded but by people wanting to be US citizens and working for a living not sucking off the system and not being illegal. And yes I want my SS to
SW-User
@BigAssLeech let's roleplay that. I'll be the illegal immigrant and you be the native. Come on...for educational purposes.

I think you’ll be lucky to collect 50 cents on every dollar owed you in SS.
BigAssLeech · 31-35, M
Cost of living has gone up exponentially since 2009/2010 while wages have stayed exactly the same. Rising cost of living and housing will not be affected by a raise in minimum wage. Cost of goods will also not go up by any considerable amount for the same reason. In Sweden, a Big Mac (which is the most common example people use to denounce a higher minimum wage) is only a few cents more than in the US. They have no minimum wage laws, and their workers are paid a living wage with benefits.
4meAndyou · F
@BigAssLeech And yet the rents in New York and California are astronomical, while the rents in Nebraska or Oklahoma or Mississippi are very low. That is why $15 per hour should be mandated by the states where it is most needed, and where it will put small business and restaurants six feet under, it should remain the same.
aradia11 · 61-69, F
@BigAssLeech Sweden is a Socialist country.
A doctor, Janitor, Mcdonald's worker wages are not very far apart. Taxes are higher to cover health insurance and way of life believed to be more Governed....
BigAssLeech · 31-35, M
@aradia11 Sweden is not socialist (even though socialism in practicality is not as bad as American propaganda has lead you to believe). They've implemented socialist methodology where they see fit, and they've done astronomically well because of it. That's also not true at all. Doctors in Sweden
make infinitely more than McDonald's workers and janitors. I don't know what would make you think that.

Would you rather be taxed a bit more and be able to receive medical treatment at a lower cost? Or would you rather be in debt the rest of your life for cancer treatments, or deny treatment altogether because of its cost? I would much rather see my tax money go to healthcare rather than funding useless wars over oil and capital.
LoveTriumphsOverHate · 36-40, M
The executive order directs the Office of Personnel Management to develop recommendations to increase the minimum wage for federal employees to $15 per hour. If Congress passes a bill to increase the min wage, it would have to happen in increments, like the last min. wage increase did.
SW-User
The cost of living is constantly rising while the wage stays stagnant.

@wildbill83 I worked in State Government for over 23 years..never got a raise since 2008....I was losing money therefore retired early.
Everything is a sad state of affairs.
@SW-User Why offer such a leftist perspective?
carpediem · 61-69, M
@SW-User Venezuela is a bit further south. Keep going. You'll know when you hit it by the starving people and crumbling infrastructure. Then you'll be home.
If they are going to be paying $15 per hour

Doomflower · 36-40, M
I have issues with the minimum wage BUT I also have issues with people not making enough to live on so it is a catch 22. When we raise the MW we see inflation increase and the minimum wage no longer covers cost of living.
@Doomflower Whenever the minimum wage goes up, people making more also tend to get raises.
Doomflower · 36-40, M
@LeopoldBloom except when they don't. You think chain stores are gonna do that?
@Doomflower It won't be as pronounced as in the past, but anyone getting $15 an hour now will probably get a raise to $16. The minimum wage has never doubled before. Although I would expect it to go up gradually. The minimum salary for overtime exemption will probably go up as well.

All of this assumes that every Democrat is on board with a minimum wage hike and that the Republicans don't filibuster it. My view is that it has almost no chance of passing, even as part of a budget reconciliation (which can't be filibustered). The Democrats would have to argue that raising the minimum wage affects government revenues, because higher wages would result in more taxes. But since it's not a direct effect, the Senate parliamentarian may not let them get away with it.

If it's not clear, budget reconciliations are only permitted on bills that affect government revenue and spending, and can only be used three times per year, on bills affecting revenue, spending, and the debt ceiling, but in practice these are usually combined into one omnibus bill. So it couldn't be used to expand the Supreme Court, or admit DC and PR as states.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
The cost of living is an interesting one.
Given that there are more minimum wage earners today than ever before.

So it’s not likely to be down to accumulative debt.
So who’s causing the rise ?

Is that down to increases in import costs ?
Increases in health insurance ?

The government raising fuel tax because it can’t make money any other way ?
Hold out for what Soc. Sec. calls 100%, if you possibly can wait that long. You will need to look up for your birth year how old you have to be. Roughly 67.
aradia11 · 61-69, F
@Alfred22 Yes I would need to be 67 to collect full. IF that is all I had I would wait longer.
One good thing about suffering through 23+ years of State Government is I got a pension.
If I collect early I can add both together and I'll be ok
DDonde · 31-35, M
The cost of living has already risen dramatically.
